The Hutt’s Darryl’s stamping ground
When it comes to the NZ building industry’s nuts and bolts few people are as knowledgeable as Darryl Fawcet.
That’s what makes him the ideal home inspector to cover Wellington’s Upper Hutt & Lower Hutt area. It is also why Betta is happy to have him on our team.
Darryl has buckets of hands-on building experience and knows exactly what he’s looking at. He’s built new homes, alterations and additions, was a contract builder, construction supervisor, project manager and estimator. He also worked for the Master Builders Federation for 10 years as a regional service officer.
“Having been exposed to good training, a wide range of construction methodology, good trade practices and CPD, I have always strived for high standards of construction, finishing and detail,” Darryl explains. “This has provided me with the essential skills that go hand-in-hand with being able to inspect and assess a property. I can thoroughly inspect and report on newly-completed and existing houses and other buildings.”
Darryl enjoys the variety of work that being a building inspector involves. This sees him out and about in different places each day, getting to inspect a variety of construction types, methods and techniques and meeting new people and networking.
Darryl is happy to inspect residential buildings anywhere between the Hutt, southern Wairarapa, Eastbourne and Wellington.
